Poseidon Expeditions
Poseidon operates the 114-passenger M/V Sea Spirit — a small expedition ship that stays under IAATO's 100-guest landing threshold, meaning all guests go ashore at the same time with no group rotations. The expedition team includes naturalists, wildlife biologists, geologists, and historians with hundreds of polar expeditions between them. Poseidon has been an IAATO member since 2011 and is also an AECO member, with 27 years of polar expedition operation as of 2026.
Smaller ship means simultaneous landings rather than split groups. Fares are often lower for a comparable South Georgia route. The expedition format is more direct — less NatGeo brand programming, more time on the ground.
